HoldFast Steering wheel Install/Test [E36 Project Ep 11]
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
Shout out to Holdfast for making a great product! Also, the reminder to hold on is nice. Quick install of the steering wheel and then some testing. Getting the hold to work on the OMP hub is a pan. If I did it again I would use an aftermarket hub that allows you to use the stock BMW clock spring. good video. stopped watching due to the shitty annoying music. was that really neccesary?
Con una prensa de banco es muy fácil , sino la tienes como se hace???? Eso es lo que queremos ver todo el mundo...
Can you change the radiator support with out draining the coolant?
You are the good my dude. Worked like a charm
Well done
So if I got the radiator support replacement I wouldd have to take apart the hole radiator to get the new one put on?
Wow! So, why didn't you use the press to push out the assembly? That's what I did, but I'm stuck with removing that bearing race. That's why I am here. So, far, using a Dremel, I've cut notches under the bearing race so I can use a puller with heat! I think that will work best. ......... and, I love my press! I've made all of my press tools, so no beating up good sockets. Thanks for your video.
The rust on mine had to destroy the thing with and air hammer but the cv axle was blown anyhow
Definitely helpful now time to make the attempt 😂 thanks for all the tips and tricks 💪
Auto Zone has "loaner" hub pullers. Works like a charm on stuck wheel spacers.
interesting torque procedure you used on that axle nut
🇲🇦🇲🇦👍🇲🇦🇲🇦
My lock cylinder took a shit on me when i get a new one do i need the matching key and chip?
Probably the most efficient way of doing it after heating it then turning it to loosen it quite ingenious. Thanks for the tip...
All metal flanges, the way 2 go. Leak less and reusable.
Can you show me again but on my car
great idea thanks mate
Well done, straight to the point. I just didn't realize I would need to remove half the car to change radiator 😂😂. Thanks
VW do not use T27 - it will be dirty T30!
Has the sunroof ever leaked after being sealed? Great Video!
nope
quick question: did you end up replacing the transmission mounting bolts, or did you reuse the same ones ?
Typically, new bolts are recommended as bolts can stretch but that not always practical or necessary. I'm sure you could find some people arguing about it on the forms.
Great video, I really appreciate how you take the time to insert small pictures to clarify areas that are difficult to see. Keep up the good work !
No torque settings? Plus it's a NUT, not a BOLT
it looks like you're playing whack a mole
it's called a pickle fork it's what Old-Timers used to use to free up the ball joint
Hi! Control arm were did you buy it or you make it ?
IDF Front Tubular Control Arms
Shoot! I didn't think u can swap motors w window intact!
Thanks a lot for the full process 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks nice explaining video
running the e36 stage 2 fx clutch and the pilot bearing slides in and out of the fork not in place with the fork is that normal?
not sure I follow
Will it start with a screwdriver indefinitely ?
Muito bom trabalho
This is a great vid but don’t reuse your subframe bolts. They are torque to yield. Get a new set on fcp or urotuning
bro you are the man im going to go try this right now lol
Todo mk4 tem caixa de ar amassada kkkk
Why didn't you just buy a brand new one? they're not expensive. And I've had my steering rack changed and what car handles like a piece of sh1t. I literally want to strip it down, polybush it, new bearings, maybe even new drive shafts.
What is that silver tool u used to press it in?
a large socket
Nice work. My 05 Beetle's ignition is hard to turn but only on cold days. I may end up doing this.
Did the tires rub?
no
Put that diff in an art museum
Is there a way to change the hoses from the back that the line connects to?
If you're talking about the ones that go to the fuel pump you're gonna have to drop the tank a bit
After i installed the m50 manifold on my m52b28 it felt like its louder than before ? Am i the only one who felt like that? I talk about the sound from the exhaust
that’s because you intake more air causing for a difference in noise, less restriction more noise
So there's only 4 bolts that hold the radiator on?
Too many skips in the video (editing out) ...
Thanks, that was quite good. Need to change my inner cv boot :)
Great tutorial. Incidentally, Autozone will loan the cup kit needed to press bearings so that you don't resort to using expensive sockets to hammer them out. Looks like you have aftermarket axles on the car. If you've had them installed for a while and you like them, can you recommend the name brand? I want to do the same work on my '04 GTI VR6 that you did in this video. Also, do you have advice on how to remove and install the rear stub-axle and bearing on the MKIV? The rear bearings and stub axles look a little more challenging to mate together.
Looks like he has Raxles. I’ve only ever heard good thing about them and I think they have a life time warranty.
Absolute goat you are the goat my guy I got to fix mine before I got to it I thought it was going to be a major headache so I figured to look it up and you were number one. big thanks 💯🦾👌
Pro tip: don't remove the top bolt. Because if the bottom part drops from the side of the steering rack while the shaft is still stuck in the mount then you can't get the top part off the upper part of the shaft. Just happened to me and now I have 2 options left either hammer it back up onto the upper shaft or cut it xD
thank you for making this bud!
Sweet vid, im guessing similar procedure for newer gens?
